A friend is having troubles with her partner who frequently criticises , hectors her and shows little respect. Typical comments from him to her are:-"Women are only good for f***ing"; " You are an idiot/delusional/" and so on "
This has been a pattern of behaviour on his part for many years and, yes, in a way she colludes by staying with him while her self-esteem gets ebbed away. How best to support and help her?
Lots of thought needed here and I often wonder whether one should ever give advice in these situations? It is so dificult truly to know the full picture in any relationship from the outside.
Hmm... Meanwhile, my foot is improving and I now walk quite well. Yay!! I am still getting swelling as is to be expected, but from the 8th week, there was suddenly a radical change. I saw my surgeon last Monday (26th) and he seemed pleased with progress and said that the inserted pins had not moved. I can almost go on tiptoe on it now and hope to start the dance teaching at the start of next term. Should I post a pic yet? Oh why not !- I won't put the 'before' so as not to spoil the meal of anyone who might happen upon this posting! But I'll put one from a couple of weeks ago which shows that the scar had already faded quite a lot. I'll update further later. Have a great weekend everyone.
